| Rabbanaaa
'afrig 'alaynaa sabranw-wa sabbit 'aqdaamanaa wan-surnaa 'alal-qawmil-kaafireen |
| Our
Rabb! pour down upon us perseverance, and make our feet firm, and
help us against the unbelieving people.(2:250) |

| When
Talut marched with his soldiers to confront Jalut (Goliath), the
small force of Talut including Dawud made this supplication. Jalut's
army was larger than Talut's. But on Talut's side was Allah - since
Talut was marching to establish a kingdom in the name of Allah.
In the war, Talut's forces fought witht he authority of Allah, in
a response to this supplication. Dawud had killed Jalut, and Allah
gave Dawud the kingdom and wisdom as mentioned in the verse (2:251)
that follows this supplication. |
