| My
Rabb! rouse me that I may give thanks for your favors with which
you have favored upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do
good -- which may please you, and do good to me with regard to my
offspring. Surely I turn to you, and I am indeed among the Muslims.

| In
Surah Al-Ahqaf, Allah teaches us to make this supplication. Allah
relates in several preceding verses about the characteristics of
believers and how they give thanks to Allah for His kindness. This
supplication is particularly important as Allah says this supplication
is for people who reaches physical and spiritual maturity by reaching
age forty.
