for provisions of life (2 of 4)

| Allahumma
Rabbanaaa 'anzil 'alaynaa Maa-'idatam-minas-amaa-'i takuunu lanaa
'iidalli-'awwa-linaa wa'aakhirinaa wa 'aayatam-minka war-zuqnaa
wa 'anta khay-rur-raazi-qiin |
| O
Allah! our Rabb! send down upon us a Table Spread with Food from
heaven, that it may be to us an 'Id for the first of us and for
the last of us, and a Sign from You; and provide sustenance to us,
for You are the Best of the sustainers (5:114) |

| Prophet
'Isa (pbh) had made this supplication as mentioned in Surah Al-Ma'idah
(Table Spread). The disciples of 'Isa had wanted a Table Spread
of food (5:112) sent from heaven, and if such thing happens then
they will believe on 'Isa as the prophet. On this, 'Isa (pbh) made
this supplication to provide food for soul and body. Allah responded,
and the following verse state that Allah sent food for them, and
whoever still refuse will receive a severe chastisement. |
