| My
Rabb! You have already given me of the kingdom and taught me the
interpretation of the narratives; Originator of the heavens and
the earth! You are my Protector in this world and the Hereafter.
Make me die as a Muslim, and join me with the righteous.

| Prophet
Yusuf (pbh) made this supplication after he became a top official
of Egypt, and he met his parents. Prophet Yusuf (pbh) was not a
king but a senior member of the kingdom, yet he compared his position
as if his Rabb gave him a kingdom. Similarly, in our daily life,
we may not own a real kingdom, but many of us are fortunate to own
lots of riches, wealth and social position. Each of us therefore
can be compared to owning a kingdom. The parents prostrated to Allah,
and Yusuf realized his dream of eleven stars and the sun and the
moon making obeisance to Allah. Although Yusuf (pbh) received worldly
affluence, the supplication asks for last breath being a Muslim.
How much would our earthly wealth, property mean if we do not die
as Muslims and most importantly, if we are not with the righteous
in the Hereafter? |
