Rabbanaa
'aamannaa fak-tubnaa ma-'ashshaahideen
Wa maa lanaa laa nu'-minu billahi wa maa jaaa-'anaa minal haqqi
wa natma-'uany yud-khilanaa. Rabbunaa ma 'al qawmis-saaliheen. |
Our
Rabb! we believe, so write us down among the witnesses.
And what have we that we should not believe in Allah and what has
come to us of the Truth, while we long that our Rabb may include
us among the righteous people?
(5:83-84) |

| This
supplication is refered to be made by people who had learnt the
message of truth from our Rasul (PBUH). On hearing the truth, their
eyes become tearful (5:83) and they make this supplication. This
is a significant supplication, as Allah said in the following verse
(5:85)
that these people receive the reward of "Gardens beneath which
flow the rivers". In the same verse, Allah reiterates that
"such is the reward of the doers of good". |
